Summary
1-800-FLOWERS.COM’s customer service center, recent winner of the global call center of the year award, employs Work from Home Customer Service agents to provide professional, courteous, responsive and accurate service to our customers. Work from Home Customer Service Agents are able to work from the comfort and convenience of their home office. Customer Service Agents serve as the first contact customers have with the company. Customer Service Agents will be responsible for the effective and efficient handling of customer transactions in real time including, but not limited to: working simultaneously with multiple software applications; immediate/direct keyboarding into customer service information systems; consistently following up on promises and commitments on a timely basis; and appropriately identifing and escalating unresolved issues.
Qualifications
Successful candidates will meet the following qualifications: Must be a resident and live in the following states; Arizona, Florida, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Ohio, New York, Texas and Virginia. Must be highly PC literate and have their own PC with a reliable high-speed Internet connection, and a dedicated land line telephone (conventional non-wireless telephone connection) for incoming calls. The ability to type 35 words per minute is essential. Prior call center experience strongly preferred. Applicants must be 18 years of age or older and have a high school diploma or GED to apply. Strong written and verbal communication skills required. Fundamental math skills required.
Scheduling Requirement
The nature of the 1-800-FLOWERS.COM workload is dependent upon the number of customers that are placing orders. We typically have a steady flow of workload. During peaks periods such as Thanksgiving, Christmas, Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day our workload increases significantly. We refer to these periods as our “Gold Rush Periods.” During Gold Rush Periods, we require Work From Home Customer Service agents to work 8 – 10 hour shifts on gold days. Gold days are generally 2 – 4 leading up to the day of the holiday and 1 – 3 days following the holiday. Based on your availability, there is a possibility that you could work many more hours during the "Gold Rush Period."

Workstation Minimum Requirements
FONEMED’s Registered Nurses provide telephone triage and health advice to callers across North America. We use computerized Schmitt/Thompson triage guidelines to assist in assessing patients' symptoms. In addition to triage calls, we receive questions requesting information on medical conditions, medications, diagnostic tests, etc... All calls are documented electronically and all telephone encounters are recorded.
FONEMED’s clients are primarily physician practices. Clients have their patients' calls transferred to FONEMED when their offices are closed. The majority of hours are evenings, nights and weekends.
FONEMED currently has opportunities for nurses to work remotely from home.
Three years recent clinical experience, pediatrics and adult. Most triage calls are pediatric, and come from throughout North America.
Minimum 1 year recent experience in telephone triage using electronic triage software and computerized medical protocols/guidelines is normally required for home-based nurses.
Experience using the Barton Schmitt/David Thompson guidelines will be an asset.
Strong communication skills.
Strong clinical assessment skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced constantly changing environment, and maintain FONEMED standards of an average of 5-6 triage calls per hour.
Basic computer skills within a Windows environment and keyboarding ability.
Active RN licensure in state of residence. Must be willing to apply for additional licensure at employer’s request (reimbursement provided).
Bilingual English/Spanish or another language will be considered an asset.
Flexibility with hours, including being able to work 2-3 weekends a month.
Separate room with door to keep out regular family noise (also consider dog barking, etc.)
High speed internet access (no dial-up).
One uncompensated 4-hour on-call block per week (weekday nights). If called in to work, normal pay will apply.
Participation (via telephone) in staff meetings.
Full compliance with FONEMED policies and procedures, including HIPAA privacy requirements.
